Lau Di Fang
in Mandarin means Old Place. Meeting at an old place, why not?
The decorations in the restaurant tell the story too. Not only
the foods taste really original, they were prepared in such a
way that they looked like how they should. I remember eating chicken
meat and asked myself if that was not real meat. This is a 100%
vegetarian restaurant, no meat. On the menu, one could order beef,
prawn and chicken as usual. How do they manage to make something
look and taste so real? Probably is their secret. My favourite
was the spicy corn. The prices are normal for a restaurant in
Singapore. I would give a 4-star for the food. and Pao-pao Cha
(tea) is a must to try as well.

There are
plenty of Thai restaurants in Singapore, Lemongrass is one of
the best for my taste. If Thailand will not be in your programmes
during your next trip to South East Asian, no worries, you can
still have a taste of Thai cuisine in Singapore. Seafood belongs
to the Thai kitchen as well and Lemongrass serves fresh seafood.
My favourites are Tom Yam seafood soup, chicken wrapped in Pandan
leave, pineapple rice and green curry. Good restaurants are always
crowded after office hours and during the weekends, so it’s advisable
to make a reservation.

A great new
discovery in my last trip back to Singapore. The restaurant does
not look grand from outside, in fact looks a bit like kopitiam
(coffee shop). A Thai family run business, the name of the owner
is Siripunnee Kanjanasri (as shown in restaurant name card). The
foods are great and taste original Thai, if you have been to Thailand
and loved the food, this is where you must go if you are in Singapore.
Here, you should be able to find and try foods that you won't
get from the menu card in any other chained Thai restaurants.
